Patient Documents

The Patient Documents app allows doctors to view existing records from the patient's Clinical Records tab.

Find a patient

After searching for a patient, a list of 10 documents will be displayed, with the most recent documents appearing first.

  • If more than 10 documents exist for the patient, a Load More button will be displayed at the bottom of the screen to make another 10 documents available.T he list shows the patient's clinical records, such as results, reports and correspondence.

Which records you can see may be governed by your practice's security settings, so the list can differ from one doctor to the next.

Open a document

  • From the list of documents, you can select the blue folder icon on the right-hand side of each row to open the record.
  • After selecting the folder icon to open a document, the document will open in a new window for viewing. In some cases, you may be prompted to allow pop-ups or need to select the View Document  button to open the document. This may differ depending on the type of device or browser in use, as well as the type of document being opened.
  • Documents open as a PDF. Where the original record was in another format, HealthTrack converts it to a PDF automatically before it opens, so what you view is always a PDF.Documents load when you open them, rather than all at once. For a patient with a large history, a document may take a moment to appear.

What you can do here

The Patient Documents app is for viewing only. You can open and read a patient's records, but there is no reply, forward, or mark-as-read in this app.

The link that opens a document is time-limited. If you leave a document open and come back to it later, you may see a message that access has expired. Open the document again from the list to view it.
