How to import a document
- Navigate to the Documents tab in HealthTrack
- Click on the
Import Documents and Images
button
- The patient's basic demographic information is displayed at the top of the screen
- If the document is for a different patient, close the screen and select the correct patient
Note: the 'Close on Import' box is ticked by default, meaning the import screen will close automatically after importing. If importing multiple documents, untick this box to keep the screen open.
- Use the 'Mode' drop-down to choose the type of file to import:
Move
: Moves the document to HealthTrackCopy
: Creates a copy in HealthTrack while keeping the origina
- Click the icon with two dots to search for the document's location.
- The Folder section will display the selected location
- Set shortcuts for commonly used file locations in user preferences
- Select a shortcut to view files saved in that location
- Select a document to view its contents in the preview pane on the right
- Select the desired document and select
Import
- A classification window will appear to choose the import folder and name the document
- Select the appropriate folder (e.g., referrals) and give the document a name
- Click
OK
to complete the import
Multipage Import
- To import multiple documents as one file, select 'multi-page file' from the mode drop-down
- A second window will open to add files for import
- Double-click on each file to add it to the import list
- Use arrows to change the order of documents if needed
- Hold down the shift key to select multiple documents and click
Import
- Choose the folder and name for the multi-page document in the classification window.
Tip: to more efficiently import documents for multiple patients, import documents via the Practice Wide menu
- Access the import document function through the Practice Wide menu.
- Use the
Find Patient
button to select different patients for document imports.
Note: the Close on Import
box is unticked by default in this method, allowing for quick imports across multiple patients.
