Transitioning from Argus to HealthLink - Updating Referring Doctors
Argus was decommissioned in March 2025, with guidance to stop using Argus by the end of September 2025. All Referring Doctors with Argus as their set Distribution Method should be updated to ensure your letters and reports can continue to be distributed seamlessly.
Here's how we can support your practice through this change.
Two Ways to Update Referring Doctors
Option 1: Bulk Update Performed by HealthTrack Support
We can programatically update your Referring MOs in bulk to set an alternate distribution method.
- Each Referring MO is checked against the HealthLink database.
- If a HealthLink EDI is found for the Referring MO, the distribution method is updated to HealthLinkHL7.
- If no HealthLink EDI is found for the Referring MO, the distribution method is updated to Unknown, and can be manually updated.
This affects all Referring MOs, regardless of the currently nominated distribution method (e.g. Argus).
- For example, if a Referring MO is currently set to receive fax, but we have their HealthLink EDI, the distribution method will be updated to HealthLinkHL7.
- We cannot provide a list of which Referring MOs have been updated.
This option is best if you want a quick, hands-off transition, but it can make changes you didn't specifically request.
Option 2: You Export and Review
If you prefer control, you can generate your own list of Referring MOs that currently use Argus for distributions.
- Go to Admin > Export & Imports > Export Data.
- Highlight Referring Doctor List.
- Clear the Filter Data option.
- Select Export Data.
- Save the export to a location on your computer when prompted.
- The file should open automatically in a program such as Excel.
- Use the Distribution Method column to filter for Argus.
This export provides you with a precise list of doctors still using Argus. From there, you can decide who to update in HealthTrack, and to which method.
Why choose this approach?
- You see exactly who still uses Argus.
- No unintended updates.
- You can work through the list at your own pace.
Which Approach Should You Take?
- Need it done fast, system-wide? Programmatic Update (Option 1).
- Want oversight and control? Export & Review (Option 2).
Either way, we're here to help you through the process. If you'd like us to assist with the bulk update or walk you through the export, just reach out.
Even if you choose the programmatic update, consider running the export from Option 2 first. This will ensure you have a clear record of your Referring MOs before changes are applied.
