How to send a Mass SMS to patients

Mass SMS lets you send a single generic message to a group of patients at once. The patient group is built from a Worklist - any set of patients you can load there can be sent the SMS.

The CanSendMassCommunication security permission is required to send a Mass SMS. Users with Manager-level permissions have this access by default. Contact your administrator if the option is unavailable.

  1. Navigate to Practice Wide > Bookings to open the All Patient Bookings window.
  2. Use the available filters - such as Date Range, Appointment Type, or Booked MO - to locate the patients you want to message.
  3. Click To Worklist  to load the filtered patients into the Worklist.
  4. At the bottom of the Worklist, click the envelope icon.

  1. In the Select Patient Bulk Send Method dialog, select Send Manual Bulk SMS.

  1. Enter your SMS message text in the field provided.
  2. Click Send.
  3. The SMS is sent to all patients on the Worklist.

A common use case is notifying patients when a clinic session is rescheduled. Filter All Patient Bookings by the affected date and location, load the Worklist, then send a Mass SMS with the updated details.
