Configuring the Triage screen

In the ‘Triage and Waiting List Monitor’, you can click on the Configure button to open the  ‘Booking Status Monitor Configuration’ window. A configuration allows you customise which patients and triage bookings you’re interested in. The configurations can also customise what information you would like to have viewed on the screen, whether it be the location, the room, the doctor or even the patient’s triage score.

Triage Waiting List Configuration

  • Select Configure on a specific Triage configuration to open the  ‘Booking Status Monitor Configuration’ window.

  • The available fields can be updated as needed to configure the Triage list.
    • All or specific Locations/Booking Types can be selected.
    • The Status and Workflow can be accordingly selected.
    • If Ignore Booked Doctor is ticked, bookings with no doctor/any current or future doctor will be displayed.
    • The Auto refresh setting will auto refresh the ‘Triage Waiting List Monitor’ screen and move patients up the waiting list according to how long they have been waiting.
    • Private Configuration can be ticked so the configuration is solely restricted for yourself.
    • Score Per Minute Waiting can be updated - the longer the patient is on the waiting list, the higher priority they are.
    • Font can be selected to allow you to set font, font style, and lettering size that will be displayed.

Triage Grid Configuration

  • The columns displayed in the ‘Triage and Waiting List Monitor’ window can be configured by clicking on Grid in the ‘Booking Status Monitor Configuration’ window.
    • This will open the Triage Waiting List Config Layout screen.

  • Column headers can be dragged to the top of the layout, so that the screen is 'grouped' by that specific header.
    • For example, dragging the 'Type' column header would separate the screen by Type.

Unnecessary columns can be removed via the check-boxes on the left-hand side of the screen.

Prioritising the Triage screen

Triage entries are ordered by triage score and wait time. Patients with higher triage scores appear higher in the list. The longer a patient waits, the higher their effective priority becomes (based on the Score Per Minute Waiting value set in your configuration above).

  • To manually reorder entries:
    • Right-click an entry in the Triage and Waiting List Monitor screen and select Prioritise to the top OR
    • Drag and drop entries to move them higher or lower in the list.
  • To permanently sort the Triage configuration by 'Score':
    • In the Triage Waiting List Config Layout screen, select the 'Triage' column header to sort in descending order, so that the entries with the greatest Triage score display at the top of the screen.

Specific scores can be assigned to each 'Triage Option' from a range of 0-1000. For example, an 'Urgent Review' can be scored as 1000 while all other Triage Options can be scored as 0. This will result in Urgent Reviews consistently being placed at the top of the Triage list for reference.
