How to access HealthTrack on a Mac
HealthTrack is a Windows desktop application. There is no native macOS version. To use HealthTrack on a Mac, you need access to a Windows environment.
Recommended: remote into a Windows machine
Use a Mac Remote Desktop client to connect to a Windows machine, then run HealthTrack from inside that Windows session as you normally would.
The Windows machine can be:
- A workstation at your practice.
- A home Windows PC.
- A Windows virtual machine your IT provider has set up.
To connect from your Mac:
- Install the Windows App from the Mac App Store. (Microsoft renamed Microsoft Remote Desktop to Windows App in 2024.)
- Add the Windows machine using the connection details from your IT provider.
- Sign in to the Windows session.
- Open HealthTrack from inside the Windows session as you would on any Windows PC.
Setting up the Windows machine and the network access to it is your IT provider's responsibility. HealthTrack does not host or provide Remote Desktop sessions for Mac access.
Alternative: Parallels Desktop
Parallels Desktop runs a Windows environment directly on your Mac. HealthTrack can run inside Parallels, but HealthTrack does not test or support this configuration.
HealthTrack is not tested on Parallels Desktop or other Mac-hosted Windows virtualisation. The application may run, but performance, printing, peripheral access, and integration features (including DICOM and label printers) cannot be guaranteed. Support cannot troubleshoot Parallels-specific issues.
If you use Parallels, raise any Parallels-specific problems through Parallels' own support channels. For a supported experience on a Mac, use the Remote Desktop option above.
