Tracking Unused Referrals
HealthTrack lets you track patients who have an unused referral, so a referral that has been recorded but not yet booked or actioned can be reviewed and followed up on.
Find patients with an unused referral
- Go to Edit > Advanced Search.

- In the Advanced Search screen, go to the Referrals tab.
- Update the Patients with an unused Referral, issued since: field to the date of your choosing.
- Select Perform Search to add the matching patients to a Worklist.
- Choose the Print icon at the bottom of the Worklist to view the Worklist separately.

- Select the Mail icon to export the Worklist as a CSV file if needed.

Unused referral vs a booking missing a referral
These two are often confused, but they answer different questions.
- An unused referral is a referral that has been recorded against a patient but has not yet been booked or actioned. You find these with the Advanced Search steps above, working from the patient's referral record.
- A booking missing a referral is a booking that has no referral attached to it at all. You find these with the No Referrals filter on the All Patient Bookings screen, which drops every booking that already has a referral and leaves only the referral-less ones. From there you can send the patients to a Worklist, export to CSV, or open each booking to attach a referral.
