How to use Occasion of Service
Occasion of Service (OS) groups together all components of a single patient visit. Each OS links directly to its related items such as a booking, the distribution list, a referral, a document, a clinical record or an admission/discharge.
If needed, OS can be disabled on a per Booking Type basis. In the Add/Modify Booking Types screen (via Admin > Diary & Bookings > Booking Types), select the booking type. Then, in the 'Other Settings' tab, tick the 'Disable Occasion of Service Support' check-box.
Creating an Occasion of Service

- If a clinical record exists on the same day the booking is made, an Occasion of Service Selector screen will pop-up.

Booking Types can be configured to ensure that new clinical records are correctly linked with the booking based on the booking type. Review our Usability Guide article - How to link booking types to related Clinical Records.
