Viewing Currently Admitted Patients
The Currently Admitted Patients screen gives you a list of every patient who is currently admitted at your hospital. It is a quick way to answer "who is in the hospital right now?" without opening individual patient records.
What is Displayed
The screen is a filterable list of admissions. A patient appears here while their admission is in the admitted state, and drops off once the admission is discharged.
The list reflects the state of the admission record, which may not correspond with the patient's actual physical location. If an admission has not been discharged in HealthTrack, the patient stays on this list even after they have physically left the hospital.
Using the List
- Go to Hospital > Currently Admitted Patients.
- The list starts empty. Set filters at the top of the screen, then choose Refresh to load the current admissions per the filters.
- Use the filters to narrow the list. The Hospital filter only offers the hospitals you have permission to view.
Actions
The screen is view-only for admissions. To make any changes to an admission, including transfers or discharges, the admission should be accessed directly — use the Go To Patient to access this patient's record, then use the Show Admissions button on the Demographic tab.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause and fix |

| A discharged patient is still on the list | Their admission has not been discharged in HealthTrack. Open the admission and complete the discharge; the patient then drops off the list. |
| The list is empty | The list starts empty when the screen opens. Refresh it to load the current admissions. |
| You cannot see another hospital in the filter | The hospital filter is limited to the hospitals your user account is permitted to view. Ask your practice administrator to review your access. |
| An admitted patient is missing from the list | If your site receives admission messages from another system, the inbound message may not have matched the patient. Contact HealthTrack support to check. |
| You are looking for a bed map | There is no bed board in HealthTrack. Bed is recorded as free text on the admission record. |
